Actually mate, all a girl needs is to be treated like a goddamn human being.
I do not need saving, because I am not in distress. I’m not some princess in a tower waiting for a man to come along and complete me. I am an autonomous human being, and I am perfectly happy being single. This does not mean I’m a frigid bitch, or that I hate men, or that I don’t like relationships. I enjoy being in a relationship - with a person who treats me as an equal, not a prize, not a damsel in distress. If I choose a relationship, it will not be because I require saving. It’ll be because I’ve fallen in love, or because I’m attracted to someone, or because I enjoy someone’s company. Not because I need a hero, not because I need protecting, not because I need “saving.”
Believe me, I save myself.
I realise that your opinion may have been formed in ignorance. I realise that you may believe that you’re a “Nice Guy.” That’s OK, we don’t all get it right the first time. But please realise that your viewpoint is misogynistic. Please do not go on a rant bashing “angry feminists.” Please reconsider how you view the women in your life and in the world.
And please leave your disgusting misogyny in the 1940s where it belongs.
